JOIN THE SHIELD MEDIA TEAM
Working on Shield includes opportunities to write, learn page design, take photos, record podcasts, record and edit videos, run social media, etc. We cover campus activities and local news, review films and concerts, and cover RU and local sports, and much more.
You can work for Shield in one of two ways. You can register for MCM1101 Shield Media Workshop, which would apply to your electives if you are not a mass comm major, or you can serve as a volunteer.
Students from all majors are welcome to participate, even if you don't have any background in media work. That’s what Shield is for!
We meet on Tuesdays from 3:45-5 p.m. in the AG basement. We can be flexible around sports schedules. We are quite experienced with that!
Scholarships are available for students who serve as editors.
Most students who get involved with Shield find that they:

enjoy being a part of the Shield team. Alumni name it as one of their favorite aspects of their time at RU.
