The newly established Gaming Club at Rochester University is for individuals who likes to play, interact with, or just be around people who love video games.

Participants gather every other Friday in the Esports Gaming room to play some of their favorite video games, including:

  • Overwatch

  • Rocket League

  • Valorant

  • CSGO

  • HearthStone

  • Team Fight Tactics

  • Minecraft

The Gaming Club also has other events on Fridays that are held online in a game or on Discord.

The first in-person meeting of the club was held on Sept. 31. Skyler Hill, freshman sports management major, said he is enjoying being a part of the club. “I feel like everyone here is in a community," he said. "We all hangout with each other, we all eat with each other, and we honestly have each other’s backs with everything that we do.”

For more information or to join the Gaming Club, go to the "gaming tab" on the Rochester University app. Scan the QR code, which will take you to the RU gaming community’s esports Discord. From there, sign in and join the Discord, then select a role and turn on notifications for the gaming club portion.
